Fender Newporter

The Newporter is a classic dreadnought acoustic guitar from Fender,, originally released in the 1965, discontinued in 1971 and subsequently re-released and manufactured in Korea in the early 90s. Now discontinued, the Newporter is still a popular guitar amongst collectors and musicians alike.

With a chrome covered hardware, high gloss mahogany body and a 22 fret rosewood fretboard, this guitar is a really nce instrument to look at and play. The Newporter also features Mother of pearl inlay markers on the fretboard to add that extra level of class to an already perfect piece of equipment. The Newporter also features a slimmer neck which is reminiscent of the electric guitars manufactured by Fender such as the Stratocaster. This hybrid design makes this guitar look and sound unique, The head of the guitar also looks like a Fender Strat too!

The Newporter gives a clean, sharp sound but is also capable of warm tones similar to other acoustic guitars such as an Ovation or Hohner. The rich, golden sound needs little amplification apart from maybe a mike in front of the guitar and it is an excellent instrument for playing almost any kind of music - apart from Thrash Metal!

In the hole you will be able to see the Fender stamp and the manufacturers details and on the back of the guitar, the chrome plate features the serial number of the guitar and the logo again.

Although this is an acoustic guitar, it is possible to retro fit an internal mic and amplification system to turn it into an electro-acoustic (or semi-acoustic) guitar. This will give you the added ability to plug the guitar into an amp for performances and get more volume from it. Many people who play this guitar simply rely on an external mic for this sort of amplification though as internal, after-market setups have been know to distort the sound and loose the warm, golden sound of the Newporter.

If you get yourself a Fender Newporter, you will be buying an excellent instrument that will last you for years and be reliable to the end. Although the Newporter has not been used by anyone really famous, it is still a classic Fender design that will keep you picking it up for years. There are no other acoustic guitars like it!
