Jimi Hendrixes Burnt Guitar sells at auction for half a million dollars
The first guitar ever set alight by the rock guitar superstar Jimi Hendrix was recently sold at auction for £280,000 ($560,000).

The 1965 Fender Stratocaster was doused in lighter fluid and set on fire as Jimi ended a show at The Astoria in London in March 1967. After the strat was removed from the stage it was left forgotten for over 40 years in a car garage in England.
The 1965 Fender Stratocaster is reckoned to be one of the most influential models of rock guitar in the world. Jimi Hendrix was famous for using the Fender brand and noted the 65 Strat as his favorite.
The purchaser of the burnt guitar, Daniel Boucher even claimed he was going to play the guitar in the hope that some of the rock legend himself rubs off on him.
