Gibson Electric Guitars

The quality associated with Gibson guitars dates as far back as the late 17th century when Orville Gibson started the company. One of the keys to the success of the company then and now is its ability to innovate and progress. It was the design of the ES-150, the first Gibson electric guitar that allowed them to become one of the greatest guitar manufacturers of their time. The main innovation came from guitarists like Les Paul whose experience and ideas were used to create some of Gibsons most innovative, unique and memorable designs.

The Les Paul Standard is the most popular of all of the Gibson guitar range. In the early 1950s it was introduced as Gibsons flagship solid body electric guitar. Today the original Standard model has several exciting variations

While many other guitar makers see manufacturing as a process to improve, streamline and save cost on, Gibson continues its 17th century tradition of making every guitar it produces by hand. Celebrities and hardcore guitarists that have been life time fans of Gibson guitars include greats such as Paul McCartney and Jimmy Page. Gibson also released a signature replica of the guitar used by Angus Young of ACDC fame.

Gibson continues to work with musicians and industry professionals to create custom made instruments. This ability to make what the musician needs and wants is one of the unique selling points of this manufacturer. Without this custom design service, guitars like these would not have been made!
