Fender Broadcaster
The Fender Broadcaster was originally known as the Telecaster, but had 2 pickups compared to the Telecaster model.
Leo Fender began manufacture of this model back in 1950 and it was an immediate hit with the guitar playing legends from that era.
Fender Broadcaster History
It was produced originally as the Esquire but was then changed to the famous Fender Broadcaster name after changing the design of the Esquire to have 2 pickups rather than just 1 and the Broadcaster was born.

The reason why the Fender Broadcaster is so rare is that the makers were forced to change the name of the guitar after Gretsch began a lawsuit over their branded drum equipment called Broadkaster. Fender obviously knew he was on to a good thing, backed down and changed the guitars name to the Fender Telecaster - which went on to become one of the most famous electric guitars in history.
So being able to get your hands on an original Fender Broadcaster may be difficult as they were not produced for long or in great numbers. Many were recalled after there were issues with the neck and I am betting they were changed to the Telecaster after they were returned.

If you are serious about buying one of these rare models, look for the word Broadcaster between the 2 pickups - its a total giveaway!
