Epiphone Supernova

Nothing screams rock and roll more than a guitar that covets the name and brand of one of the greatest rock bands ever. Signature guitar models are an important part of any guitar manufacturers line up and gives them credibility and praise from the starts of today and yesterday that use their instruments. It is also all marketing hype too - but very important marketing hype.

Made in Korea, the Epiphone Supernova guitar is the signature model of Noel Gallagher from the rock band Oasis, one of the largest, most influential, controversial and best bands of the past 20 years. Noel is the brains behind Oasis, whist his brother Liam is the swaggering front man.

The Epiphone Supernova is a custom designed version of the Epiphone Sheraton, another one of the makers popular guitars. The Supernova you and I can buy today is not the same as the one used by Oasis though. The commercial version does have a few minor changes such as using different type of pickups, Alnico 57s rather than mini humbucker pickups on the original. The original guitar played by Noel now hangs in the O2 arena in the UK as part of the British Music Experience.

The epiphone noel gallagher supernova is no longer made but was available in several colors including the infamous signed union jack design requested by Noel. The other colors were blue to represent the Manchester City Football Club that the band supports, Cherry Red and a very rare Ebony Black model. The guitar features big block fret markers, a long scale necks, a rosewood fretboard, a vintage tremolo, a hollow body which makes it light to wear and easier to play. The pick guard has Noel signature and the Epiphone logo.

The Supernova produces warm tones that are suitable for rock, jazz or blues. Sounding quite a bit like a more expensive Gibson model, the Supernova will deliver the results you need. The build quality is also excellent and should be without manufacturing issues or defects.

If you can find an Epiphone Supernova for sale, it is overall an excellent guitar and well worth spending your money on - especially if you also like the band!
