Epiphone Dot Studio

The Epiphone Dot Studio electric guitar is one of the most affordable archtop guitars you can buy.  But dont be fooled into thinking cheap means poor quality, shoddy components and a bad sound.  The Dot Studio  has an excellent sound and a solid reputation in the world of guitar players and musicians.

Featuring vintage Alnico pickups, a rosewood fretboard, a laminated maple body and all black hardware, the Dot is a perfect looking piece of craftsmanship.  The great thing is that it also sounds as good as it looks too!  It has a great sustain, a cool, smooth midrange tone and generates a type of sound that it perfect for any style of music.

With only 2 types of controls, a switch to control the pickups and 2 knobs for sound and tone, playing and using the Epiphone Dot Studio is a dream.  It is assembled with great care and the quality of the components is second to none.  With some guitars, you need to get them straight to the shop to be re-set up, but this guitar will suffer fewer issues due to the care and concern given to its construction.

If you are looking for excellent value for money and also to make an investment that will last you for generations, then this is the guitar for you.  There are plenty of other models of guitar out there that fit the similar style and goal such as a Gibson or a cheaper Fender guitar, but guitars made by Epiphone are also excellent.  After all, the Epihphone name and brand are actually owned by Gibson!  They used to be 2 separate companies, both vying for the same market throughout the 1st half of the 20th century until Epiphone fell on harder times and the larger company of Gibson bought them out.

I always think of Epiphone as a cheaper version of the original vintage Gibson models, but they are actually totally on par with the more expensive models.  Although Epiphone now run re-releases of the older Gibson models such as the Les Paul classic, they also have their own legacy to continue - which is where the Dot Studio model comes in.

This guitar is simplistic in its design, layout and features but does not skimp when delivering results.  It is perfect - and costing less that a 3rd of the price of any of its predecessors or bigger brothers, the Epiphone Dot Studio is a perfect guitar in many ways.
