There are 2 types of Ibanez Talman guitars from the popular maker from Japan. There is the semi-acoustic or electro-acoustic Talman double cutaway series of guitar or the no longer manufactured Talman electric guitar range.
The Talman electric guitar range ceased manufacture back in the 90s and is no longer available to buy as a new product. The range was also produced as a limited edition run and therefore are hard to find unless you are looking on places like eBay or local or online guitar auction houses.
The Talman series features quality components and an amazing, distinctive sound that eminates from the Resoncast body (wood/plastic). They most commonly feature a standard 3 way selector, Kent Armstrong P90 pickups and the usual volume and tone knobs.
Available in Black Pearl, Red Metalic, Metalic Avacado or Olive Metalic colors, there was also a limited edition run of the TC620 model in 1995 which featured the subsequent standard P90s.
The sound of the Ibanez Talman series can be compared to the round sound of a Fender Stratocaster or the tone of a Telecaster. The Talman produces clean singing tones but also great fuzzy distortion too.
Other Ibanez Talman models available:
- TC830FM BT

- TV650 WH
- TC220 DG
- TC740 BK
- TC740 MN

One of the most iconic rock guitars is the infamous Flying V, originally released by Gibson in 1958.
After a few changes and design alterations, the Flying V was relaunched in 1967, made from mahogany and with some alterations to the way that the strings were attached and the size of the pick guard being larger. It was an immediate hit with the guitar legends of that time such as Jimi Hendrix and Lonnie Mack.
The 1967 Flying V model is now considered to be the de-facto model from Gibson although they now refer to it as the V Factor rather than the Flying V. Shame. There is also a flying V bass model although that does not seem to be as commonly used as the iconic V.
Hendrix was so taken with the Gibson Flying V that he worked with them to produce a limited edition signature model on which he also designed the graphics himself.
Today, the newer models and versions of the original V are known as the Tribal V. Gibson are producing a small edition run of this model, only manufacturing 350 guitars in total. So getting hold of one might be an issue! The design and components are pretty much the same as the original but the Tribal V is slicked out in total white with chrome and a black paint design curling through the pick guard. Although this modern look to the V has not been welcomed, the guitar looks to be a hit. With top quality components and an original design and manufacturing process, the V is here to stay!

It's not only on eBay that you get to find some amazing old vintage electric guitars or musical instruments.
I was trawling the catalogs of some of the online auction houses when I came across the following for auction:
All of these items have now been sold as the auction itself took place a few days ago in Douglassville, PA - but it does go to show that if you are serious about collecting these things, they will turn up if you know where to look.
The most obvious place is to look at the vintage guitars on eBay where you will be able to find some amazing vintage electric guitars. Another place to look is at the Antiques and The Arts Online, a database of auctions taking place soon, their contents and images too.
I am sure there are plenty of places to look online if you are interested in buying a Vintage Electric Guitar, but these 2 are a good place to start.
